Were You There?

I am crucified with Christ:

nevertheless I live;

yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:

and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God,

who loved me,

and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

I was there when they crucified my Lord! Even though I wasn't physically on the cross, my sin was hanging on that cross with my Lord Jesus. When we come to Jesus we are united by his death and resurrection and now freely live for God and Christ lives in us.

Scott McKnight put it this way in his commentary on Galatians. 'Those who have been justified, live justly; those who have been made holy in Christ, live holy lives; those who have experienced God’s love, love others; those who have experienced God’s forgiveness, forgive others; those who have been called from the world, no longer live in the world; those who have died to the flesh, live in the Spirit.'
