St. Patrick

St. Patrick

"..For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many." Matthew 20:28 NLT

Jesus came to people in the form of a servant. If we are true followers of Christ, we will follow his example by serving and sacrificing for others. Christ paid a high ransom for our souls. His death and resurrection freed us from the chains of the enemy. Jesus' blood ransomed our souls! Praise God we are set free from the punishment of sin and death!

Around the year 385, a 16-year old Scottish boy named Patrick was captured by Irish invaders and taken into slavery. After six years of imprisonment, he escaped and returned to his family. However, he felt led by God to return to Ireland to spread Christianity. He preached the Gospel and built churches throughout the entire country of Ireland until his death on March 17, 461. St. Patrick's life is a good example of humble Christian servanthood...a life of service and sacrifice.
