All who take refuge in you will be glad;
They will sing out their joy forever.
You will shelter them…
Psalm 5:13

'Mother-in-love' sleeps restlessly in the sterile room
Soft, pale hands
Once caressing
Comforting others
Creating beauty in her surroundings
Now lie immobile
A life of giving
Now a life of receiving
Relying on other hands to sooth, calm, and still
Other hands smooth out creases of the cotton covering,
Dabbing fevered brow
His hands now enveloping, reassuring, removing fear
Reminding us that our days are passing like a shadow.

We are like a puff of wind;our days are passing like a shadow.
Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Psalm 144:4 and Matthew 10:31
