between the Jew and the Greek:
unto all that call upon him.For whosoever shall call
upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
in whom they have not believed?
of whom they have not heard?
without a preacher?
except they be sent?
Eyes wide,
Ears open,
Listening
As never before
To gripping tales
One person sharing hope
With the lost,
The broken,
The captive,
Downtrodden soul
This child wonders
Can I make a difference?
Could God use me?
The prospect,
The offer,
Faraway in India
Fearful,
Hesitant,
An opportunity lost
A marriage,
Three children,
A mission of its own
Praying,
Nurturing,
Guiding,
And more Praying
Lost ties
Reconnected
Excitement,
Eagerness,
Opportunity found
The prospect,
The offer,
Faraway in Trinidad
A husband,
Three children
On a mission together
Eyes wide,
Ears open,
Listening
As never before
To His voice
Here I am. Send me Lord.

From Isaiah chapter forty-nine,
"Listen to me, you islands; hear this you distant nations" (vs. 1).
The servant declared that even before he was born the Lord knew him and called him (vs. 1).
The Lord formed and shaped the servant's mouth to accomplish the divine purposes (vs. 2).
The servant owes his very existence to the Lord (vs. 5).
The Lord proclaimed: "I will make you a light for the Gentiles" (vs. 6)
and then performed the deed.
The Lord is the faithful one who chooses His servants and sends them forth to do His bidding (vs. 7).
If we are true believers then each of us is on a mission. We are to go forth with a purpose of telling the Good News...everywhere. Whether we minister in our home, out in the community, or abroad we must allow our hearts to be broken with the things that break God's heart.
Some thought-provoking quotes...
"If the Great Commission is true, our plans are not too big; they are too small." -- Pat Morley
"To stay here and disobey God -- I can't afford to take the consequence. I would rather go and obey God than to stay here and know that I disobeyed." -- Amanda Berry Smith
"To know the will of God, we need an open Bible and an open map." -- William Carey, pioneer missionary to India
"What's your dream and to what corner of the missions world will it take you?"
-- Eleanor Roat, missions mobilizer
