So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in his good time he will honor you. 1 Peter 5:6
We are to humble ourselves to the Lord. This is an act of the will; humility does not come naturally. But when we humble ourselves to God, we are actually submitting to his care and protection. Today is my mother's birthday and I can think of no one with more humility. As a young lady, she had the kind of glamour and style that turned heads. She is still very beautiful and graceful yet she has a way about her that never demands attention. She always puts others' needs before her own and I can truly say that she exemplifies the very nature of Christ. Her life honors the Lord now and I know her reward will be great in heaven one day.
